One of our primary functions is to assist travel journalists who are on assignment to produce a Florida feature. We can provide you with suggestions, itineraries and interview assistance, and we are happy to facilitate visits to all areas of the Sunshine State. In addition to facilitating visits to Florida, we provide the Editorial Leads Program in which qualified Editorial Leads are forwarded to more than 3,500 tourism Partners (CVB's, hotels, attractions, etc.). This resource allows you to ask for a certain type of information, and the tourism industry can respond to you quickly and directly. Editorial leads do not include requests to attend media trips. If you would like to use the Editorial Leads program as a resource, please contact Henny Groenendijk via e-mail at hgroenendijk@thermrgroup.ca or via phone at (416) 485-2573 ext. 231. Since we receive numerous media requests per month, we ask that the following guidelines be followed when requesting media trip assistance: -Complete and return the Media Assistance Request Form. -We request a minimum of three business weeks notice to fully assist journalists in their visit, once we have received all credentialing information. This allows us to coordinate the necessary arrangements. If we receive a request less than three weeks prior, we attempt to assist journalists with their requests, but cannot guarantee results. We will be happy to provide contact information for industry members so that the journalist can make arrangements on their own. Please note that complimentary arrangements are provided at the discretion of our industry Partners. All requests are subject to availability. Media rates may apply. -Journalists should be prepared to send, if requested, a letter of assignment on letterhead from the media outlet they are representing. -Freelance writers should forward documentation of recent examples of travel or travel-related feature coverage from the last two years in a high circulation media outlet. Documentation can be in the form of print clippings with their byline or a VHS or cassette sample of coverage they have previously produced. -Forward an original copy of the resulting published feature, cassette tape or VHS tape as well as air dates to us after your work has been published. This allows us to track coverage about Florida. -While traveling in Florida, we expect all journalists who have received assistance from VISIT FLORIDA and our Partners to behave responsibly and to respect the rules and regulations of each destination.
